Do you have more than one bottle of shampoo, conditioner, or lotion? Can you use them up before buying a new one?
This year, I aim to be more intentional with my spending. I am making every dollar count. I do this by not spending money on things I already have.
From free samples and bottles half full, I can save a few dollars on hair products.
This is helpful because mentally I can appreciate the things I already have. Physically, I am freeing up space and making room for new products.
We live in a society where over consumption is a trend. It’s easy to buy the things you want but don’t necessarily need.
I encourage you to take inventory of what you have and make plans to use them.
Make a list. Place it somewhere visible. The next time you go shopping, review your list of what you already have. This way, you will know exactly what you need to buy.
Have you ever went shopping for something only to come home and realize you already had it?
Sometimes you might return it or other times you might put it away until you need it.
There’s nothing wrong with having extra of certain products. However, in most cases that money spent is funds that could have been reserved for later. It could also be used for something you actually needed.
Do you have products that you no longer want to use but don’t want to throw them away? Try giving them away to someone who could use it or regifting it for another occasion.
When you finally run out of something, your shopping trip will be much more rewarding.
You can apply this concept of using what you already have for any item in your home. This applies to clothing, cleaning products, makeup, and more. You may surprise yourself with what you have. You might notice you didn’t have to spend as much money as you thought.
Save a few dollars by using what you already have and saving more.
